NamSeva ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Data We Collect

We do not collect: GPS coordinates (only city/locality text), card numbers or bank details (handled entirely by Razorpay), Aadhaar numbers, or biometric data other than the voluntary selfie.

2. How We Use Your Data

• To create and manage your account.
• To display your profile to seekers searching for services in your area.
• To facilitate contact between Seekers and Sevakars via the in-app chat.
• To process credit purchases and grant credits to your account.
• To send push notifications about requests and messages.
• To verify Sevakar identity (selfie + address proof, reviewed by admin only).

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell your data. We share data only with:

• Firebase / Google — database, authentication, storage, push notifications (Google Cloud, servers in the US/EU).
• Razorpay — payment processing. Your phone number and name are prefilled for faster checkout; Razorpay handles all card/UPI data directly.
• No other third parties.

4. Data Retention

• Account data is retained until you delete your account.
• Chat messages are retained indefinitely (you may request deletion).
• Selfie and address proof photos are deleted once verification is complete or upon request.
• Payment records are retained for 5 years as required by Indian financial regulations.

5. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate data via your profile settings.
• Delete your account and associated data by contacting us.
• Withdraw consent for verification photos at any time.

6. Security

All data is stored on Firebase (Google Cloud), protected by Firebase Security Rules and TLS encryption in transit. We use Firebase Authentication (OTP) — we never store passwords. Payment data is handled solely by Razorpay and never touches our servers.

7. Children's Privacy

NamSeva is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us for immediate deletion.

8. International Transfers

Your data may be processed on Google Cloud servers outside India. Google Cloud complies with applicable data protection regulations including India's DPDP Act, 2023.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy. We will notify you of significant changes via the app. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
