Child Safety Standards
1. About NamSeva
NamSeva is a people-to-people home services marketplace that connects verified service providers (Sevakar) with service seekers (Sevaarthi) in Indian cities. Services listed include household help, child care, elderly care, tutoring, fitness, and similar personal services.
Because the platform facilitates connections that may involve the care of minors (e.g. babysitting, tutoring, after-school help), we take child safety obligations with the utmost seriousness.
2. Prohibited Content and Conduct
The following are strictly prohibited on NamSeva and will result in immediate account termination and, where required by law, reporting to law enforcement:
- Any generation, sharing, storage, or distribution of child sexual abuse material (CSAM).
- Grooming, solicitation, or exploitation of minors in any form.
- Misrepresentation of intent when seeking child-care or tutoring services.
- Using the platform's chat or contact features to share inappropriate content involving minors.
- Creating accounts on behalf of, or to contact, individuals under the age of 18 for any non-service purpose.
3. Preventive Measures
- Identity verification: All Sevakar (service providers) are required to submit Aadhaar-backed identity documents before their profile is approved.
- Manual review: Provider profiles are reviewed by NamSeva administrators before becoming publicly visible.
- Privacy-first contact flow: Phone numbers are never exposed publicly. Contact is only established after an explicit request-and-accept exchange, creating a traceable consent record.
- Chat monitoring policy: Reported chats are reviewed by our trust-and-safety team. We retain the right to review flagged conversations.
- Age restriction: NamSeva is intended for users aged 18 and above. Users under 18 are not permitted to register.
- Reporting tools: In-app reporting is available on every provider profile and inside every chat thread.
4. How We Respond to Reports
When a CSAE-related report is received, NamSeva will:
- Immediately suspend the reported account pending investigation.
- Preserve all associated account data and communication records.
- Report confirmed CSAM to the National Centre for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) CyberTipline and/or relevant Indian law-enforcement authorities as required by applicable law.
- Permanently ban accounts found in violation.
5. Legal Compliance
NamSeva complies with the Information Technology Act, 2000 (India) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012, including mandatory reporting obligations under Section 19 of POCSO. We cooperate fully with lawful requests from Indian law enforcement and child-protection agencies.
6. Updates to This Policy
